Vestis Workers Join Teamsters Local 745 in Major Union Victory

(DALLAS) – In a significant development for the laundry industry, route service representatives employed at Vestis have successfully voted to align with Teamsters Local 745. This marks the first organizing win for the local union in this sector within two decades, as workers aim to enhance their pay scales, improve workplace conditions, and secure their jobs.
Jeff Hinestorsa, a leading member of the organizing committee, shared his thoughts, stating, “Most of us have bent over backwards for this company to make it successful. We deserve to be paid and treated fairly.” He emphasized the necessity for transformation, adding, “We really needed to make a change — and the Teamsters are that change.”
Brent Taylor, the Secretary-Treasurer of Local 745 and Southern Region International Vice President, highlighted the broader implications of this success. “This organizing victory will open doors for more workers in the laundry industry to recognize their collective power, inspiring them to stand together and demand better wages, benefits, and working conditions,” he remarked.
