California Nurses Hold Press Conference to Denounce ICE Presence

Nurses Call for the Withdrawal of ICE from California Hospitals

Union nurses affiliated with the California Nurses Association are set to hold an urgent press conference TODAY, at 3 p.m. to express their strong opposition to the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) near Natividad Medical Center in Salinas and Watsonville Community Hospital in Watsonville. The nurses are urging that ICE and any federal immigration agents remain distant from their medical facilities. They are also calling on their employers to resist cooperation with ICE, advocate for the agency's removal from their communities, and ultimately demand its abolition.

Reports from the nursing staff indicate sightings of ICE vehicles and the apprehension of at least one individual within the past 24 hours at Natividad Medical Center. Additionally, several ICE vehicles were observed outside Watsonville Community Hospital this morning.
