Shapiro Administration Transforms Former Gas Station to Municipal Office
Transformation of Old Gas Station to Serve Hooversville's Civic Needs
An innovative project is underway in Somerset County, where a former gas station is being repurposed to house the future Hooversville municipal office and police station. This transformation is supported by the Shapiro Administration, marking a significant step in community development.
The endeavor is made possible through a $22,890 grant from the Industrial Sites Reuse Program (ISRP). The funding will facilitate key environmental and structural improvements, including soil remediation, analysis, removal of defunct underground storage tanks, excavation, and groundwater sampling.
Hooversville Borough is at the forefront of this redevelopment effort, aiming to optimize the use of existing structures for public service facilities. The project underscores the commitment to sustainable community development by repurposing older properties.
