Teamsters at AMR in Springfield and Greenfield Stand United
(SPRINGFIELD, Mass.) – Teamsters at American Medical Response in Springfield and Greenfield unanimously voted to authorize a strike if no agreeable contract is settled by November 24. The 200 emergency medical personnel are seeking better wages and job respect through a robust Teamsters Local 404 contract.
Demand for Fair Teamsters Contract
"These AMR Teamsters deliver crucial life-saving care," stated Bryan Donovan Jr., President of Local 404. "They deserve a strong first Teamsters contract recognizing their critical skills." First responders serve Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties, including Bay State Hospital.
Essential Work and Union Protections
"AMR Teamsters provide essential compassionate care," said Peter Finn, Teamsters Public Services Division Director. "We demand a fair contract with quality health care and union protections, yet AMR refuses. The unanimous strike vote underscores their commitment." Teamsters Local 404 supports 1,300 workers and families in western Massachusetts.
