Among the enthusiastic supporters in the crowd was Antwan Terry, a dedicated member of AFSCME Florida and proud father of TeeTee Terry. He journeyed to Paris to not only cheer for his daughter but to also carry the best wishes from his colleagues at the City of Miami Beach and his union.

Antwan's trip to Paris was made even more memorable by a heartfelt farewell organized by the city, which marked his departure with a surprise sendoff celebration.

Delroy Ireland, who works alongside Antwan as a sanitation employee and serves as president of AFSCME Local 1554, praised him saying, “You give Antwan a goal, he is going to get it done no matter what. He has always made being there for his children one of his top goals.” His unwavering support for TeeTee is just one aspect of his dedication as a father and a professional.

Antwan Terry has been a cornerstone of his family, which includes daughters with notable achievements in military service and academia. With 18 years of service at Miami Beach’s Parks and Recreation Department and a 22-year tenure with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, he balances his roles diligently. His involvement with AFSCME Local 1184 further exemplifies his commitment to his community.

Reflecting on the Paris Olympics experience, Antwan shared, “Paris was an experience like no other, simply mind-blowing.” His travels, motivated by TeeTee's competitions, have been a rewarding journey. “When I saw her on the stage with that gold medal, it was a moment like no other,” he expressed, highlighting the pride in witnessing his daughter's achievements.
