Military Families Unite in D.C. to Protest Veteran Job Cuts
Veterans and military families are organizing a significant demonstration in Washington, D.C., to address pressing concerns about employment and healthcare. Titled the "Unite for Veterans, Unite for America Rally," the event is scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET on the National Mall near the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, specifically at the intersection of 6th Street and the Mall .
The rally aims to protest widespread terminations of veterans from federal positions and express concerns over potential changes to Veterans Affairs services. Organizers are calling for the protection of veteran employment, opposition to VA privatization, and increased accountability from elected officials on issues affecting military families. The choice of June 6th, the anniversary of D-Day, adds historical significance to the demonstration. Funding for the event comes from individual donations supporting outreach and coordination efforts.
