The Facts -

  • Over 200 Webasto workers at a Michigan plant ratified their first contract with a 96% yes vote.
  • The contract, negotiated with UAW Local 3000, includes raises up to 51% over three years.
  • Workers will receive a $9 per hour raise and a $2,250 ratification bonus as part of the deal.

Over 200 Webasto employees at the Pilot Road facility in Plymouth, Michigan, ratified their inaugural contract with an impressive 96% approval, securing up to 51% pay increases over three years, among other benefits.

The employees, engaged in making convertible soft tops for giants GM, Ford, and Stellantis, united under UAW Local 3000, Region 1A in 2023. They are the pioneers among Webasto workers in the U.S. to achieve a collective bargaining agreement.

“The firm had been unfairly treating us for years without any wage growth, which is intolerable,” stated Jammy Samuel, a Webasto Pilot Road UAW Local 3000 member on the Jeep Line. He further added, “With the high cost of living, our wages should also rise. This contract will not only boost our salaries but will also ensure fairness and equality for all. My coworkers and I are enthusiastically looking forward to this contract.”

As part of the Stand Up Movement, several workers will enjoy a $9 per hour increment over the contract's duration, in addition to a $2,250 ratification bonus, marking yet another victory for UAW members at Webasto.
