US Foods Employees Secure Significant Boost in Wages and Benefits
In a remarkable show of solidarity, over 430 Teamsters at US Foods in Minneapolis have ratified a substantial four-year collective bargaining agreement. This newly approved contract is touted as a significant milestone, particularly for warehouse workers, drivers, and mechanics.
"This contract is a benchmark — not just for US Foods, but for the entire industry," stated Brandon Brink, a Local 120 business agent and lead negotiator. "Our members stood strong, and they've shown what is possible when workers fight together."
The agreement introduces an immediate wage increase of 20.4 percent within the first year, cumulating in a total increase of 33 percent over the contract's duration. Additional benefits include improved pension contributions, measures that protect against automation, an additional week of paid vacation, and enhanced safety protocols.
"We made it clear to management that we were ready to do whatever it took to win the agreement we deserve," commented Dennis Duff, a US Foods driver and Local 120 shop steward. "This is a wall-to-wall union shop, and that unity gave us the power to win big."
Noah Mueller, a warehouse worker and Local 120 shop steward, emphasized the contract's strength, saying, "This is the strongest agreement we've ever secured at this facility. We held the company's feet to the fire, and the gains in this contract will directly improve our lives and our families' future."
Teamsters Local 120 represents over 15,000 workers across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. For further details, visit local120.org.
