UAW Local 600 Reaches Tentative Agreement with Ford at Rouge Complex
Dearborn, MI – In an important development at Ford’s Rouge Complex, the UAW Local 600’s Tool & Die Unit has successfully negotiated a tentative local agreement with Ford Motor Company.
The newly secured deal aims to bolster job security by mitigating the effects of advancements in 3D printing technology. It also sets up a protocol to obtain additional die work when needed. Furthermore, the agreement addresses wage inequality among skilled trades, ensuring consistent and fair pay for all workers.
Over the next few days, approximately 500 UAW members based in Dearborn will evaluate the agreement’s specifics and participate in a ratification vote. If it passes, this deal will become a benchmark for skilled trades agreements at Ford.
UAW Vice President Chuck Browning commented, “The members at the Rouge Complex understand the power of strength in numbers. They stuck together and showed Ford that they were willing to stand up if necessary to win what they deserve.”
