The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), part of the Teamsters Rail Conference, has successfully negotiated and ratified new contracts for members at two different railroads.

At the Huron and Eastern Railway in Michigan, a group of 24 Teamsters achieved a five-year deal that raises their wages by 19.5% and enhances their vacation allowances. This railway spans nearly 400 miles along Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron.

Meanwhile, 13 Teamsters at the Indiana Southern Railroad have also secured a five-year contract. This agreement will see their wages climb by 22.5% and introduce a new parental leave benefit. The ISRR is crucial for transporting coal and agricultural products over 196 miles of track.

Eddie Hall, President of the BLET, commended the workers, stating, “These workers fought long and hard to secure these improvements. I can’t say enough how proud I am of what they have accomplished.”

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters is a major union representing 1.3 million workers across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. For more details, visit Teamster.org. Stay updated by following them on Twitter @Teamsters and liking their page on Facebook.
