Allegiant Pilots Secure Historic Contract Enhancements

In a landmark decision for aviation professionals, pilots at Allegiant Air have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement that promises significant advancements in wages and benefits. The deal, backed by 80% of voting members from the Allegiant Pilots Association and Teamsters Local 2118, is set to impact nearly 1,300 pilots.

This agreement introduces an immediate average hourly wage hike of 40%, coupled with a substantial $300 million payout in accrued retention bonuses. "This agreement represents a major leap forward for our pilots," stated Ryan Joseph, President of Local 2118. The contract further promises a 54% wage increment by January 2027, enhancing retirement plans, benefits, and overall working conditions.

Among the critical features of this agreement are a 15% company-funded direct 401(k) contribution, company-covered long-term disability insurance up to age 65, and a guaranteed five-hour minimum pay credit for each flight duty. The agreement also provides expanded leave protections and higher premium pay for open time and voluntary flying, alongside improved scheduling-system safeguards.

Furlough protections, minimum days-off guarantees, and provisions for displacement and fleet transitions are also included, aiming to enhance job security and scheduling efficiency. Dave Saucedo, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division, commented, "This is a major win for Allegiant pilots across the country. Our members stood strong, stayed united, and fought hard to secure the improvements they deserve."

Following this successful ratification, Teamsters Local 2118 will focus on joint collective bargaining and seniority list integration, emphasizing the protection of pilots' careers and working conditions.
