Local 396 Members Secure Substantial Pay Raise, Improved Health Care Benefits, Increased Pension Contributions

(MORENO VALLEY, Calif.) – Members of Teamsters Local 396 at Waste Management have ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement.

“This agreement is a testament to the strength and unity of our members,” said Victor Mineros, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 396. “Workers’ determination and solidarity resulted in a contract that recognizes their hard work and secures a brighter future. We are proud of what we have achieved together.”

The new contract includes higher wages, improved health care benefits, increased pension contributions, and strong safer working conditions provisions.

“The significant language and economic advancements in this agreement will have a profound positive impact on the lives of our members and their families,” said Alex Moran, President of Local 396. “This is a great victory for all of us and sets a new standard for future negotiations.”

Nationwide, the Teamsters represent more than 5,700 workers at Waste Management.

“This is an outstanding contract that shows once again that when Teamsters fight, Teamsters win,” said Chuck Stiles, Director of the Teamsters Solid Waste and Recycling Division. “I want to thank Victor Mineros for keeping the pressure on Waste Management and congratulate the hardworking members of Local 396 for winning such a lucrative agreement.”
