Energy Transfer Approves Texas Natural Gas Pipeline Project
Energy Transfer, a renowned US energy infrastructure group, has given the green light to build a new intrastate natural gas pipeline in Texas. This pipeline will efficiently connect Permian basin production to major market and trading hubs.
Dubbed the Hugh Brinson pipeline, previously known as the Warrior pipeline, the project will roll out in two phases with a total investment estimate of US$2.7 billion. Phase one involves the construction of the Midland Lateral gas pipeline, spanning approximately 645 km from Waha to Maypearl, Texas. This pipeline will have a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d), equivalent to 15.5 billion cubic meters annually, and is projected to be operational by the end of 2026. In the second phase, Energy Transfer plans to develop a new 2.2 bcf/d (22.7 bcm/year) pipeline. This section will link processing plants in Martin and Midland Counties through 70 km to the Hugh Brinson pipeline. Depending on demand, construction for this phase could start concurrently with the first phase.
Energy Transfer boasts a diverse portfolio of energy assets in the USA, managing over 200,000 km of pipelines and associated infrastructure.
