Pennsylvania's Statewide Tour to Boost International Business Ties
International Business Outreach Initiative Kicks Off in Pennsylvania
From September 8 to 19, Pennsylvania will host a series of events aimed at connecting local companies with international representatives from 13 countries. This effort is part of a broader strategy to enhance international trade and attract foreign investments to the state.
Harrisburg, PA – The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announced the commencement of the "Bringing the World to Pennsylvania" tour, starting on September 8 and concluding on September 19, 2025. This annual initiative is designed to help Pennsylvania companies expand their reach by exporting products, services, and technologies globally.
During the 10-day event, businesses will engage with BusinessPA representatives from countries such as Australia, Canada, China, and Germany. These interactions aim to help local businesses achieve their international sales objectives while showcasing Pennsylvania’s regional strengths to attract foreign investment.
Secretary Rick Siger emphasized the importance of international collaboration for Pennsylvania's economic growth: “As part of our Economic Development Strategy, we emphasized the need to bring in more global business and industry to Pennsylvania — one of the many reasons why we formed BusinessPA.”
The initiative is part of Governor Josh Shapiro's broader Economic Development Strategy, which includes ambitious plans to secure significant private sector investment and create jobs. Since taking office, the administration has facilitated over $25.2 billion in private investments and nearly 11,000 new jobs.
BusinessPA’s International Trade & Investment team has been instrumental in helping 722 companies export products worth over $534.3 million, while also attracting 22 international companies to invest more than $93 million in the state, supporting numerous jobs.
The “Bringing the World to Pennsylvania” tour is a collaborative effort between BusinessPA, its Regional Export Network, and local economic development organizations. The events will take place in key locations, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Erie, among others.
Governor Shapiro's proposed budget for 2025-26 includes substantial investments aimed at enhancing Pennsylvania’s competitiveness. These include funding for workforce development, tax credits to create high-quality jobs, and initiatives to attract and retain businesses. The budget also proposes cutting the Corporate Net Income Tax rate more swiftly than previously planned.
