UAW Local 869 Approves Strike at Stellantis' Warren Plant

Over 1,000 members of UAW Local 869 at Stellantis Warren Stamping Plant, Warren, Mich., have endorsed a strike, citing the company’s disregard for health & safety grievances.

“This health and safety grievance procedure is our livelihood,” said Local 869 member Chautay Smith. “It's time for Warren Stamping to prioritize our well-being.”

The unresolved issues include problems with ventilation fans, ergo matting, personal protective equipment (PPE), sanitation standards, and more.

“We want these grievances resolved for our members' safety and dignity,” said UAW Local 869 President Romaine McKinney III.

Warren Stamping is a supplier for numerous Stellantis plants, affecting production of the Dodge RAM, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Wagoneer.

Last year, Stellantis reported nearly $20 billion in profits, with CEO Carlos Tavares earning over $37 million in 2023.
