President Biden will join a Presidential roundtable on March 12, hosted by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters at their headquarters in Washington, D.C. The meeting will consist of union members, Teamsters General Executive Board, General President Sean M. O’Brien, and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman.

General President O’Brien expressed appreciation for President Biden prioritising this meeting with Teamsters, addressing future national issues and the needs of workers.

In the past, the Teamsters have invited presidential candidates to participate in roundtables discussing issues impacting their rank-and-file members and their families. The union has previously held roundtables with former President Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Asa Hutchinson, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Cornel West, and Dean Phillips. Nikki Haley declined to participate.

President Biden's discussion will cover how he plans to collaborate with the Teamsters in his potential second term to empower workers, uphold labor standards, strengthen the economy, and grow the middle class. Topics will include wealth inequality, corporate bankruptcy reform, antitrust enforcement in the warehouse and delivery industry, and union formation.

O’Brian emphasized the diversity of the 1.3 million Teamsters representing every political background. The roundtable participants will reflect this diversity, including UPS drivers, American Red Cross technicians, film and television workers, freight operators, and public employees.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has not issued an endorsement in the 2024 Presidential race. Founded in 1903, the Teamsters represent 1.3 million working people across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
