Shakopee Teamsters Approve Contract, Prevent Strike

Teamsters Local 320 at Shakopee’s Department of Public Works have ratified a new three-year collective agreement, backdated to January 1, 2024. The contract includes a 14.5 percent pay raise, Juneteenth as a paid holiday, and access to Teamsters Joint Council 32’s Health Fund.

Erik Skoog, President of Local 320, shared his pride in the Shakopee Teamsters’ success, defining it as a significant win for all union workers statewide.

In December 2023, Shakopee Teamsters unanimously agreed to strike if the contract wasn't reached. Following weeks of mediation, Local 320 reached a provisional agreement, which the City Council rejected, leading Shakopee Teamsters to issue their second strike notice.
