Shakopee Teamsters Approve Contract, Prevent Strike

Teamsters Local 320 members at the City of Shakopee’s Department of Public Works ratified a new collective bargaining agreement that's retroactive to January 1, 2024. The three-year agreement includes a 14.5% wage increase over its life, Juneteenth as a paid holiday, and the option to join Teamsters Joint Council 32’s Health Fund. Before reaching this agreement, Shakopee Teamsters unanimously voted to strike in December 2023 and had even filed a second intent to strike notice when the City Council rejected a tentative agreement.

Teamsters Local 320 at Shakopee’s Department of Public Works have ratified a new three-year collective agreement, backdated to January 1, 2024. The contract includes a 14.5 percent pay raise, Juneteenth as a paid holiday, and access to Teamsters Joint Council 32’s Health Fund.
Erik Skoog, President of Local 320, shared his pride in the Shakopee Teamsters’ success, defining it as a significant win for all union workers statewide.
In December 2023, Shakopee Teamsters unanimously agreed to strike if the contract wasn't reached. Following weeks of mediation, Local 320 reached a provisional agreement, which the City Council rejected, leading Shakopee Teamsters to issue their second strike notice.
