As Donald Trump takes the Republican National Convention stage tonight, the AFL-CIO will highlight the threat his agenda poses to workers.

The AFL-CIO, a federation of 60 unions and more than 12.5 million members, launched a comprehensive new online guide today as part of its 2024 campaign program. This guide examines the policies and approach of the Trump Project 2025 Agenda impacting workers, families, and America’s unions.

This agenda includes several anti-worker policies such as:

    • Banning unions for public service workers (page 82).
    • Firing civil service workers and replacing them with anti-union loyalists (page 80).
    • Allowing bosses to eliminate unions mid-contract (page 603).
    • Stopping overtime pay and allowing states to opt out of federal wage laws (pages 592, 605).
    • Eliminating child labor protections (page 595).
    • Urging Congress to pass a bill allowing sham company-run unions (page 599).

Liz Shuler, president of the AFL-CIO, said:
“In his first term, Donald Trump was a disaster for workers, governing for the wealthy. The Trump Project 2025 Agenda aims to eliminate or control unions and dismantle labor laws. This new online tool is key to our voter education campaign. Union voters could make the difference in this election, and the AFL-CIO plans to mobilize grassroots activists to spread the message and vote.”

The AFL-CIO’s online tool on Project 2025 offers a comprehensive breakdown of how a second Trump term would harm workers’ ability to organize, gut health and safety protections, attack civil, labor, and consumer rights, undermine retirement security, and lessen accountability for the wealthy and corporations.
