(COMMERCE, Calif.) — Following a brief strike at Breakthru Beverage, drivers at the Commerce facility have approved their first Teamsters Local 166 contract.

“This marks the first Teamsters contract for this company in California. It's a testament to the resilience of our workers,” stated Mike Pharris, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 166. “Congratulations to all who stood firm for their rights.”

The two-year agreement offers substantial wage hikes, safeguards against unfair discipline, and seniority rights for 45 workers. It will align with the [California Statewide Liquor Master Agreement](https://californialistatewideagreement.com), opening in a new tab.

“The company must respect us now. Before, we had no say, but this contract changes everything,” said Roger Chaidez, a 13-year Breakthru employee. “We thought we’d strike over Thanksgiving, but our efforts succeeded. Thanks to Local 166 Organizer Ruben Luna for his dedication.”
