United Auto Workers Express Gratitude to President Biden for Leadership
Today, the United Auto Workers thank President Joe Biden for his extraordinary term of service and leadership, particularly in prioritizing the country over personal interests by passing the torch to a new generation.
President Biden made history by joining us on our picket line last September and has consistently supported the working class throughout his administration. Vice President Kamala Harris also walked the picket line with us in 2019, and both leaders have brought work and jobs back to communities like Lordstown, Ohio, and Belvidere, Illinois. This legacy of revitalizing communities is something our union will continue to build on. In contrast, Donald Trump falsely claims to have rebuilt the auto industry. In reality, GM abandoned autoworkers in Lordstown in 2019 while Trump did nothing.
The path forward is clear: we will defeat Donald Trump and his billionaire agenda and elect a champion for the working class. We will advocate for issues critical to the working class such as a living wage, decent healthcare, and a dignified retirement. We are committed to fighting for economic and social justice both on and off the job.
