New Union Representation for Beverage Workers in Orange, Connecticut

A recent vote in Orange, Connecticut, has seen a group of workers take a significant step towards securing improved pay and working conditions. Thirty-five drivers, service technicians, and merchandisers from Northeast Beverage Corporation have chosen to join Teamsters Local 443.

Expressing their enthusiasm for the new representation, Sal Abate, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 443, stated, "These members are a united group that have shown incredible strength and commitment to one another. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with them to fight for the best contract possible, and we are proud to welcome these new Teamsters brothers and sisters into our family."

Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference, also congratulated them on their achievement. "This group overcame illegal union busting tactics to win a decisive victory. We look forward to helping this group secure a strong Teamsters contract that reflects their contributions to the company," he remarked.

The workers' determination was echoed by Kealin Brown, a driver at Northeast Beverage Corporation and member of Local 443, who said, "We take our jobs seriously and, knowing the dangers of this type of work, we want a fair wage. We hold our heads high, because now we are Teamsters. We look forward to fighting for a contract we deserve."

Northeast Beverage Corporation operates as a subsidiary of the Mancini Company, which maintains distribution facilities across New Jersey, New York, and New England. With this new union representation, the workers at the Orange facility are hopeful for positive changes in their employment terms.
