Major Investment in Missouri: Metrobloks Plans $1.4 Billion Data Center Campus

In a significant move for Missouri's technology sector, Metrobloks has unveiled plans to establish a state-of-the-art data center campus in Liberty. This massive investment, expected to reach $1.4 billion, underscores the company's commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure in the region.

The proposed high-density data center will span 568,800 square feet, distributed across three buildings, and provide 150MWs of power. This development promises to be one of the most substantial data infrastructure investments in the state. The facility is designed to support advanced cloud and AI workloads, capitalizing on the Kansas City area's central position, strong fiber connectivity, and reliable, cost-effective energy resources.

Metrobloks anticipates the creation of at least 30 full-time positions with competitive salaries through this development. In addition, the project will generate numerous jobs in construction, security, and maintenance, all while contributing significantly to the local tax base. Ensuring sustainability, the facility will employ strategies for low water consumption and minimal disruption to local resources.

"Metrobloks is proud to expand in Liberty, where we found the ideal combination of infrastructure, talent and community partnership to support our next phase of growth," stated Ernest Popescu, CEO of Metrobloks. "This investment reflects our confidence in the Liberty area as a rising digital economy and innovation hub, and we look forward to building a facility here in the Kansas City region that delivers long-term value for both our customers and the community."

The announcement has been hailed by state and regional officials as a pivotal development for Missouri's technological and infrastructural landscape. It further cements the area’s status as a strategic hub for cutting-edge digital infrastructure.
