California's Strategic Boost in Aerospace & Defense

In a bid to energize one of its key economic sectors, California is seeing a surge in public and private investments in aerospace and defense. This initiative is part of Governor Newsom's California Jobs First Economic Blueprint, the first comprehensive economic strategy in over two decades, which highlights the sector's potential to generate significant economic growth, with an annual contribution of $35 billion to the state's GDP.

Regional Investment Initiative

In August, California allocated $16.95 million to enhance the aerospace and defense infrastructure and workforce in the Central Coast area, as part of a broader effort to drive economic growth statewide. Learn more.

Significant investments through tax credits have been made to bolster the sector's growth. In June, A.S. Aerospace was awarded tax credits to fuel a $19 million investment for manufacturing aerospace hardware in Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Meanwhile, in November, Hadrian Automation, Inc. secured credits enabling a $52 million investment in Torrance and Northern California, creating 650 jobs.
