UAW Advocates Lobby on Capitol Hill for Workers' Rights

UAW members took the initiative to bring their agenda to the heart of legislative power in the United States. On Tuesday, union members sought backing from lawmakers for bills supporting their key concerns.
Delegates representing all nine regions of the UAW engaged with legislative authorities, sharing personal narratives to strengthen their appeal for policies that endorse affordable healthcare, the expansion of worker rights, reduced work weeks, improved paid leave, and solid retirement security for citizens.
Later that day, UAW Secretary-Treasurer Margaret Mock addressed the Congressional & Movement Allies Reception, urging members to continue their fight for a brighter future.
“If there’s one thing that’s been made absolutely clear over the last forty years, it’s that billionaires and corporations will never use their influence and power over our government to make life better for everyday Americans,” Mock told attendees. “Only WE can do that. It is our time to lead and to stand up to the oppressive forces we are seeing today… to give people inspiration, hope, and the belief that, if we stand together and fight, we can ensure our country works for working people.”
The final assembly of the 2026 National CAP Conference is scheduled for 9 am tomorrow, featuring U.S. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock (GA), followed by a Michigan Senate Forum at 10 am, and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (VT). These sessions will be broadcast live on UAW's YouTube, X, and Facebook platforms.
