AFSCME President Supports Biden's Supreme Court Reform Proposals

WASHINGTON – AFSCME President Lee Saunders issued a statement following President Joe Biden's proposed Supreme Court reforms:

“In recent years, the Supreme Court has undermined workers' rights, dismantled reproductive freedom, and provided criminal immunity to presidents. The court is failing to protect our rights and democracy. Justices are enjoying lavish vacations funded by billionaires aiming to erode our freedoms further. President Biden is right: Enough is enough. We need reform and accountability.

“Term limits and an enforceable code of ethics will prevent the court from being influenced by anti-democratic special interests and restore confidence in its decisions. These steps will balance justice when workers fight for their rights. We will work to pass these crucial proposals.”
