(PALM SPRINGS, Calif.) – A new chapter unfolds for over 250 Palm Springs employees as they officially become part of Teamsters Local 1932. This decision marks a crucial step toward enhanced representation and a stronger voice at work. The newly unionized workers are integral to maintaining essential services in the area, benefiting both residents and visitors.
Randy Korgan, the Secretary-Treasurer of Local 1932, expressed his support, stating, “Palm Springs workers made it clear that they want a real voice on the job. We are proud to welcome these hardworking public workers into the Teamsters family and look forward to working alongside them to secure a strong contract that reflects the important work they do every day.”
This successful organizing initiative is part of a broader trend in the Coachella Valley and the Inland Empire, where workers unite with the Teamsters to advocate for better rights and improved working conditions.
Kathy Simonette, a newly joined member of the Teamsters in Palm Springs, shared her thoughts: “We care deeply about the work we do for the residents of Palm Springs. We chose Teamsters because we want a stronger voice on the job and a union that will stand with us as we work to improve our workplaces and the services we provide to our community.”
Teamsters Local 1932, representing over 16,000 workers throughout the Inland Empire, continues to strengthen its impact. Further details can be found at teamsters1932.org.
