National Nurses United Endorses Matt Little for Congress in Minnesota
National Nurses United Endorses Matt Little for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District
National Nurses United (NNU), the preeminent union representing over 225,000 registered nurses across the United States, has officially endorsed Matt Little in his bid for Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District. Little, an experienced attorney and elected official, has long demonstrated a commitment to compassionate leadership, advocating for a health care system akin to Medicare for All, which provides services at no cost at the point of care.
Mary Turner, RN and president of NNU, praised Little's dedication, stating, “As a state senator and throughout his legal career, Matt Little has shown up for our nurses and the patients we care for when we’ve needed him the most. He’s committed to securing guaranteed health care for everyone, and knows how to bring people together to get the work done. Nurses know Matt will prioritize our patients over the corporate interests behind our broken, profit-driven health care system.”
Expressing his gratitude for the endorsement, Matt Little remarked, “Thank you. I am enormously grateful and humbled to be endorsed by National Nurses United. No issue is more important than health care, and the nurses represented by NNU are indispensable to ensuring that our families receive the high-quality, personal care everyone deserves. By advocating for quality care, high nursing standards, safe staffing levels, and better funding in hospitals and clinics, NNU's members work to keep my family, and all families, healthy and safe. Thank you, NNU!”
National Nurses United selects candidates who are aligned with the union's core values, which include ensuring safe staffing levels in hospitals nationwide, safeguarding workers' rights to organize, and guaranteeing universal health care. A recent Gallup poll recognized nurses as the most trusted profession in the United States for the 24th year in a row. NNU is eager to support Little’s campaign and collaborate with him on critical issues affecting registered nurses, their patients, and the wider community.
National Nurses United is the largest and fastest-growing union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States with more than 225,000 members nationwide. NNU affiliates include California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, DC Nurses Association, Michigan Nurses Association, Minnesota Nurses Association, and New York State Nurses Association.
