Teamsters Welcomes 56 Naperville Paramedics and EMTs

(NAPERVILLE, Ill.) – In a significant move toward worker rights, 56 paramedics and EMTs from Superior Ambulance have successfully voted to join Teamsters Local 743, which provides emergency medical response for Edwards Ambulance Services (EAS). This decision follows years of dissatisfaction due to stagnant wages, steep health care costs, and ongoing safety issues.

"We voted for Teamsters representation because we were tired of not getting responses from Superior to the numerous concerns we have raised with them," stated Aria Moscinski, a critical care paramedic with seven years of service at EAS Superior. "We are ready to win a first contract that will address our concerns, including pay, benefits, and respect on the job."

The path to unionization was not without challenges. Superior Ambulance mounted a vehement campaign against unionization, rife with misinformation. Despite this, EAS Superior workers remained steadfast and voted overwhelmingly for union representation.

"Congratulations to EAS Superior workers on their successful vote to form a union with North America’s strongest union," commented Debra Simmons-Peterson, President of Local 743. "Local 743 welcomes them to the Teamsters and we look forward to fighting for a first contract that will provide the pay and respect that they deserve."

Teamsters Local 743 is proud to represent a diverse group of 10,000 members across health care, mail order, technical, and warehouse sectors. For additional details, visit teamsterslocal743.com.
