Teamsters Local 665 welcomes new members

Workers from Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District have unanimously voted to join Teamsters Local 665, boosting the union's strength in Northern California. These 33 new members help protect Marin and Sonoma counties from mosquito and vector-borne diseases.

Mike Yates, President of Local 665, welcomed the new members, acknowledging the crucial role they play in public health. "Residents across Marin and Sonoma counties benefit from the essential work these public health officials perform. We are eager to support them in bargaining their first Teamsters contract," said Yates.

The workers' responsibilities include mosquito control, mosquitofish delivery, ground nesting yellowjacket control, and providing rodent prevention and control recommendations.

Nizza Sequeira, a public information officer, expressed enthusiasm about the affiliation. “We are thrilled to join Teamsters Local 665 and entrust them with our representation. We're looking forward to working together to champion the interests of our dedicated team,” she said.
