Prime Healthcare Faces Allegations of Illegal Discipline Against Nurses

The Maine State Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee (MSNA/NNOC), affiliated with National Nurses United (NNU), has issued a statement concerning recent disciplinary actions taken by Prime Healthcare.

Management at Central Maine Medical Center has terminated the employment of 14 nurses, with an additional six nurses placed on suspension. This brings the total number of nurses facing disciplinary measures to 20.

Prime Healthcare's actions are reportedly part of a broader strategy to target nurses advocating for patient care and improvements at the hospital. This trend is observed in various hospitals nationwide, where Prime Healthcare has been accused of similar actions against nurses.

In response, the MSNA/NNOC plans to file federal charges against Prime Healthcare for these actions, which they deem illegal.
