In a decisive move, Teamsters Local 313 members at Olympic Eagle in Puyallup, Washington, have successfully ratified a new contract, marking a significant step forward for the workforce there. The contract was approved by an overwhelming 90 percent majority, reflecting the strong unity among employees.

Encompassing a workforce of 135 sales representatives, drivers, warehouse workers, and merchandisers, this new agreement will impact the beverage distribution network throughout the region.

Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference, praised the collective effort, stating, "Our members at Olympic Eagle were unified from the start. These were tough negotiations, but they were determined to win a contract that reflects their hard work."

Kris Fish, Business Agent and Recording Secretary with Local 313, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the determination of the bargaining committee. "This was hard-fought win for all of our members. The bargaining committee never wavered, and with support from the International, we were able to reach a fair deal," Fish commented.

The newly ratified contract ensures wage increases for all job classifications, introduces a longevity bonus upon ratification, and enhances seniority and protection of rights language.

Bobbie Myers, a six-year veteran merchandiser and steward, expressed satisfaction with the outcome. "I’m very happy we were able to get a solid deal,” Myers stated. “We came into these negotiations laser focused on making major improvements for the merchandisers, and were able to achieve the longevity premiums to recognize their hard work.”
