Historic Gains for Kroger Drivers in Michigan as Union Contract Secures Key Benefits

Kroger Drivers' Union Contract

In a groundbreaking development for labor rights, over 400 delivery drivers at Kroger's Romulus Fulfilment Center in Michigan have overwhelmingly approved a transformative union contract with Teamsters Local 337. This landmark agreement, spanning three years, promises significant wage enhancements, accessible healthcare options, more paid leave, and enhanced working conditions.

Todd Lince, President of Local 337, emphasized the significance of this contract stating, “This is a huge victory for our members at Kroger and sets the bar for future organizing across the company’s fulfilment network.”

The path to this achievement began when the workers chose to join Local 337 by a three-to-one vote last year, making them pioneers in unionizing at Kroger fulfilment centers. This success has been a catalyst for unionization efforts at other Kroger sites, including the facilities in Georgia and Las Vegas.

Toi Globe, a Kroger driver and shop steward with Local 337, expressed the workers' sentiments, saying, “We organized with the Teamsters to win a strong first contract, and that’s exactly what we accomplished. We’re proud to head into work knowing our rights and livelihoods are protected under a Teamsters agreement.”

Teamsters Local 337, representing a diverse workforce across Detroit and Port Huron, continues to champion workers' rights in multiple sectors. For further details, visit teamsterslocal337.com.
