This strategic expansion is projected to elevate the company's revenue by 20%, reaching over $3.1 billion in the fiscal year 2024.
With this acquisition, Menzies cements its role as a leader in the U.S. market, which is noted as the most dynamic and largest in the aviation industry. The merger with G2 Secure Staff not only enhances operational strength but also introduces new capabilities that can be rapidly deployed. G2's proficiency in ground services, such as passenger assistance and cabin cleaning, complements Menzies' existing offerings, including air cargo and fuel services.
John Redmond, Executive Vice President Americas at Menzies, who has been with the company for 18 years, will continue to oversee operations in the region. The senior management team from G2 will be joining his team.
Hassan El-Houry, Executive Chairman of Menzies Aviation, remarked on the acquisition: “Acquiring G2 is a strategic long-term investment and significant milestone in our global growth journey. It is also a direct response to customer demand for Menzies to offer a broader range of services at more airports. With U.S. passenger volumes expected to surpass one billion [2] by 2040 and rising airport infrastructure investment, this deal positions Menzies at the centre of the country’s aviation momentum and underscores our confidence in the resilience of the U.S economy and U.S. consumer. After 25 years as a key player in the U.S. market, we are now structurally aligned to support capacity growth, digital transformation, and labour demand. I’m proud of how far we have come as a business and excited to welcome our new G2 colleagues, whose talent and experience will be vital to our shared success.”
The merger has doubled Menzies' footprint in the U.S., now servicing over 110 locations. This includes expanding services at the busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and major hubs like Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Denver International Airport (DEN).
With improved global connectivity, Menzies aims to enhance its service quality, ensuring industry-leading safety and operational standards across more locations. This move also aligns with their commitment to sustainability, aiding airports and airlines in achieving their environmental targets, such as reducing scope three emissions.
Philipp Joeinig, Group CEO of Menzies Aviation, stated: “This deal isn’t just scale for the sake of scale. It’s high-volume, high-readiness infrastructure that meets growing airline demand for seamless, multi-airport service coverage. It provides an opportunity to raise standards for aviation services across the U.S and globally through the roll out of our industry-leading training, safety, sustainability and technology across all new operations. With our reach extending into dozens of new local economies, we see the G2 Menzies combination unlocking job creation and upskilling opportunities. G2 has built a successful business, and we’re focused on working together to capitalise on our strengths to support our 20,000-strong U.S. team to deliver greater value for our partners.”
Following the acquisition, G2's operations will be rebranded under the Menzies Aviation name. Integration efforts will commence immediately, implementing Menzies' global standards in training, safety, and technology to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders involved.
