IBTTA Expands Leadership Team Amid Infrastructure Investment Crisis

With infrastructure investment in a global crisis and an estimated $780 billion required to upgrade US roads and bridges alone, the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) has broadened its leadership team. The move is designed to ensure continued advocacy for tolling, pricing, and road usage charging solutions, and to better equip members for an evolving global infrastructure finance landscape.

Three new leadership roles have been added to the IBTTA in the areas of finance, administration, communications, and government affairs. Additionally, two new positions have been created to enhance membership and meeting offerings.

Leadership Appointments at IBTTA

Mark Muriello, previously the director of policy and government affairs since 2020, has been promoted to vice president in the same department. Muriello brings experience from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Transportation Research Board, and the E-ZPass Group.

Joining from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, Phillip Morrone takes on the role of vice president of finance and administration. Tanya Sheres is the new vice president of communications, marketing and media relations, leveraging her previous work at global toll road operator Transurban, Amtrak, and Transwestern.

In addition to the leadership roles, Erin Mosher has joined as meeting content producer and Kristen Bean as conference production & speaker relations coordinator.

IBTTA Initiates Be Safe Together Campaign

The IBTTA has recently launched its Be Safe Together road safety initiative. The campaign includes the inaugural IBTTA Global Road Safety Week, slated for 24-28 June.
