Region 1 Hosts Empowering UAW Education Training for Union Leaders

Union Educator Training Empowers Region 1 Members

The training held from November 12 to 14 provided two daily sessions tailored to meet the varied schedules of participants. This arrangement was designed to ensure optimal attendance and engagement among the members.

Facilitating the sessions were Nadja Roivas from the International Union UAW Education Department, Roc Ciers from Region 1’s Education Department, and Nayeesha Conway, who serves as a Local Union Discussion Leader (LUDL) and is the President of Local 155.

The program aimed at cultivating strong and effective educators within the union. It included a series of interactive modules, practical exercises, and group discussions. These activities focused on strategies for delivering clear and impactful instruction in their respective locals. Participants were encouraged to embrace the fundamental values of UAW education: empowerment, solidarity, and leadership driven by its members.

The training atmosphere was marked by enthusiasm and energy, indicative of the Region 1 members’ dedication to collective advancement and influence. By investing in the development of skilled educators, the union enhances its capacity to assist members, broaden its movement, and safeguard workers' rights universally.

A note of gratitude is extended by Region 1 to all the participants who contributed to this essential initiative. There are plans to offer this transformative training again soon.
