Rally Planned to Oppose CNH Plant Closure Threat in Burlington, IA

Burlington, IA – The city of Burlington, Iowa, is facing significant economic challenges as multinational corporation Case New Holland (CNH) threatens to close a plant that has been a staple in the community for nearly 100 years. Despite accruing $6.6 billion in profits over the past three years, CNH has allocated over $3.1 billion to shareholder payouts and executive compensation.

In a recently released video titled “Keep Case in Burlington,” voices from CNH workers, retirees, and local politicians unite to highlight the economic struggles faced by Burlington and similar towns nationwide.

Scheduled for Friday, November 7th, a rally will take place featuring speeches from UAW President Shawn Fain, UAW Vice President Laura Dickerson, and UAW Region 4 Director Brandon Campbell. Local leaders and community members will gather to protest the potential closure of the plant and its implications on the local economy.
