UAW Local 647 Approves New Five-Year Contract with GE Aerospace

UAW Local 647 Members End Strike with New Contract at GE Aerospace

CINCINNATI—Members of UAW Local 647 have concluded their strike at GE Aerospace, located in Evendale, OH and Erlanger, KY, following a decisive 82% vote in favor of a fresh five-year contract.

UAW Local 647 President Brian Strunk expressed the collective determination of the workers, stating, “Together we stood like David against Goliath—shoulder to shoulder against a billion-dollar company, refusing to be treated as just numbers.” He highlighted that the agreement ensures job security, grants more family time, and offers compensation to help with health care expenses.

The agreement encompasses several key benefits for union members:

· Guarantees to safeguard the workforce size

· Financial provisions to counteract rising health care costs

· Increased personal and vacation time

Dave Green, Director of UAW Region 2B, praised the efforts of the union members, stating, “I’d like to congratulate the 600 plus UAW Local 647 members at GE Aerospace for standing up and using your collective strength. For over three weeks, across Erlanger and Evendale, you never wavered. Your grit, resilience—and, of course, your solidarity—showed a multi-billion dollar company what power really looks like.”

The newly sanctioned contract takes effect on September 15 and will remain valid until September 15, 2030.
