RIVERSIDE, Calif. — In a bold move, Amazon Teamsters at the DJT6 facility in Riverside, California, have initiated a one-day strike. This action highlights their grievances regarding unfair labor practices at Amazon's largest warehouse in the U.S. The Teamsters Local 1932 members, advocating for better working conditions, have voiced concerns over Amazon's alleged illegal activities and retaliatory measures against those who champion workplace safety.
The DJT6 workforce became part of Local 1932 in December 2025. Since then, allegations have surfaced concerning Amazon's disregard for federal mandates to recognize and negotiate with the Teamsters. Accusations include intimidation tactics and the unjust termination of a union leader, as detailed in this report.
Randy Korgan, Director of the Teamsters Amazon Division, emphasized, “Amazon thinks it can trample workers’ rights with no consequences, but Amazon Teamsters at DJT6 are proving them wrong.” He further warned that if Amazon fails to heed the workforce's demands on-site, the protests will move to public arenas.
This strike follows a significant triumph for the Teamsters at the National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB directed Amazon to respect workers' strike rights, a mandate detailed in this agreement. This event marks the first joint strike by Teamsters from both primary shifts at DJT6, effectively pausing operations at a pivotal Amazon hub for 24 hours.
Emmanuel Cadena, a diligent worker at DJT6 and part of Local 1932, voiced his frustration: “I joined the Teamsters with hundreds of my co-workers to win better pay and safer working conditions at DJT6. But instead of listening to our concerns, Amazon has responded with illegal intimidation and retaliation against us.” Cadena emphasized the workers' resolve in the face of adversity, signaling their readiness to defend their rights.
