RNs at Rush University Medical Center Announce Union Election Petition

Registered nurses working at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago have planned a press conference on Thursday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. This event is to reveal their recent action of filing a petition with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on April 8, seeking a union election. This move has been organized by the National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU), which is the largest and fastest-growing union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States.

The petition marks the largest union election filing in Chicago's health care sector and stands out as one of the largest filings across various industries in the city.

"We are proud to work at Rush and give our patients excellent care," expressed Dan Hurowitz, RN in general medicine at Rush. "We know that by forming a union with National Nurses Organizing Committee, we can do even better for our patients."
