In March, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters proudly commemorates Women's History Month by recognizing the impactful contributions of women both within the union and across the nation.

Women have been integral to the Teamsters Union since its inception in 1903, significantly influencing the labor movement's trajectory. Female labor leaders were present at the very first Teamsters convention, and their leadership has been pivotal in advancing gender equality in workplaces and society at large.

Women within the Teamsters, including local presidents, business agents, and rank-and-file members, diligently work to secure optimal contracts for a diverse workforce across numerous sectors. The union acknowledges and celebrates the dedicated women throughout the year who enhance the strength of the union and uplift the lives of 1.3 million Teamster families nationwide.
