Union-Made Vehicles in US and Canada: Check VIN for Origin Details

The vehicles manufactured in the United States or Canada are produced by workers affiliated with the UAW (United Auto Workers) and Canada's Unifor union, previously known as the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW). Due to the close integration of production facilities across the two countries, Canadian-made vehicles on this list contain a substantial amount of UAW-made components, thereby supporting UAW member jobs.

Union Quality

A single asterisk (*) next to a vehicle's name indicates that it is also assembled in Mexico.

Checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is essential when considering a vehicle marked with a single asterisk. For vehicles made in the U.S., the VIN begins with "1," "4," or "5." A VIN starting with "2" signifies a Canadian-made vehicle, while a "3" points to a Mexican-made vehicle. It is important to note that not all vehicles produced in the United States or Canada are assembled by workers represented by unions. Vehicles absent from this list, even if manufactured in the U.S. or Canada, are not union-made.
