(ENFIELD, Conn) – About 20 Teamsters at i-Health strike due to unfair labor practices affecting their rights.

After months of bad-faith bargaining and unfair practices, workers voted to strike. Following two days on the line, i-Health unjustly fired 11 full-time and one temporary worker.

“This company’s actions are outrageous,” said Lawrence Sanchez, i-Health worker and Teamsters Local 671 member. “They think they can manipulate our lives and jobs, but we will resist.”

These workers distribute products to major retailers and globally. In March, they joined Local 671 for better health care and to avoid excessive work hours.

“Workers deserve decency,” stated Anthony Lepore, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 671. “They seek to provide for their families without being forced into 12-hour, six-day weeks. i-Health's actions won’t go unchecked.”

Teamsters Local 671 serves workers in transportation, construction, and other sectors in Central Connecticut. Learn more at Teamsters671.com.
