MOON TWP, PA — Yesterday, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) hosted House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) in Western Pennsylvania. Leader Jeffries, the highest-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House, toured the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) construction site with Deluzio. PIT has received over $123 million in federal investments since 2021, primarily from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act—a transformative investment in Western Pennsylvania and nationwide infrastructure.

Earlier in June, Congressman Deluzio, together with Senators and Congresswoman Summer Lee, announced a $20.6 million investment into the ongoing terminal improvement project. This grant, also from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), funds the removal of the mid-terminal train transport and various upgrades.

“I was thrilled to host Leader Jeffries at Pittsburgh International Airport to see the Infrastructure Law in action in Western Pennsylvania,” said Congressman Deluzio. “America’s airports are more than critical portals—they are economic engines that create strong jobs. I look forward to tracking how the recent $20+ million in Infrastructure Law investments into the terminal project will continue to create good, solid jobs for our region.”

“It was an honor to be in Western Pennsylvania with Congressman Chris Deluzio and our union brothers and sisters to see the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in action,” said Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. “House Democrats are committed to growing the economy while creating good-paying union jobs, and that’s exactly what the Pittsburgh International Airport project represents. Under Rep. Deluzio's leadership, I am confident that we will continue to build a healthy economy in this region, Pennsylvania, and across our nation.”
