Biden Administration Ensures Fair Wages for Clean Energy Workers Under Inflation Reduction Act

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler released a statement on a new rule from the Biden administration ensuring workers on projects funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) receive fair wages under the prevailing wage statute:

These new wage regulations mark a historic win for working people, achieved through decades of labor movement advocacy and the Biden–Harris administration's efforts. The Inflation Reduction Act promises to create good-paying union jobs while advancing clean energy policy. By enforcing fair wages on IRA-funded projects, the Biden–Harris administration guarantees that clean energy sector workers earn wages aligned with those achieved through contract negotiations. This encourages developers to support workers, increases apprenticeships, and builds the clean energy workforce.
