NUHW Strikes Outside Kaiser Psychiatry Symposium in Anaheim

Ongoing Strike Continues Outside Kaiser Symposium

The ongoing strike, now in its sixth month, saw a significant demonstration outside Kaiser’s Psychiatry Symposium at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim. The event took place at a union hotel, with UNITE HERE hotel workers showing solidarity by wearing "NUHW" pins and distributing strike leaflets inside the ballroom. The demonstration included several dozen workers and allies, who actively handed out leaflets and chanted slogans.

During the event, a participant from the symposium expressed support by joining the demonstrators for a photo, noting that their chants were clearly audible. Overall, approximately 500 leaflets were distributed, signaling the demonstrators' resolve to continue their efforts.

The previous evening, several participants attended the annual gala for Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE). Pastor Jennifer Gutierrez, a leading figure in the organization, lauded the strike in her address, associating it with the theme of transforming chaos into order.
