Experience Education and Recreation at the UAW Family Education Center

UAW Members Invited to Family Education Program in Michigan

For over half a century, the Family Education Center has served as a hub for members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) and their families, combining learning with leisure activities.

This unique venue offers an opportunity to delve into union-related education, foster innovative ideas, and form lasting connections with other UAW families. The one-week summer session promises to enhance participants' comprehension and appreciation of their union.

The Walter and May Reuther Family Education Center Scholarship Program, known as the Family Scholarship, has welcomed thousands of UAW members and their families since 1970, profoundly impacting their lives.

Situated in the picturesque surroundings of Onaway, Michigan, on the shores of Black Lake, the Family Education Center was a vision of the renowned UAW President Walter Reuther. It was designed as a space for members and families to unite for learning and enjoyment.

The program encourages both adults and children to engage in educational and recreational activities, emphasizing the union's role in effecting workplace and community change for current and future generations.

Participants gain valuable insights through scheduled programs for adults and children, alongside family activities conducted daily.

Those interested in applying must submit their applications by the deadline of Friday, June 6, 2025.
