Trenton, Michigan Embraces Unionization
Trenton, Michigan — On Wednesday, March 13, forklift operators and material handlers of Syncreon/DP World in Trenton, Michigan, voted overwhelmingly in favor of joining the UAW Local 372. The 110 warehouse employees play a critical role in global automotive part distribution from Trenton Engine North Plant.
“Unionization will empower us as a workforce. It will foster a stronger culture and improved working conditions,” stated Byron Cannon, a second shift forklift operator.
Material handler, Jazmine Williams, added, “Union organization amplifies our voice and enables better decision making. It's time we demand better pay, increased vacation, and mental health days. Unity will help us create significant changes.”
Welcoming the New Union Members
UAW Local 372 President Dave Gerbi expressed warm welcome to the new members from Syncreon/DP World. “Despite the anti-union rhetoric, you stood tall. By voting YES FOR UNION, you’ve secured a voice and a seat at the bargaining table. Congratulations, we stand with you!”
Region 1A Director Laura Dickerson praised the solidarity shown. “This victory is a testament to unity. The laid-off workers from an existing Stellantis plant initiated the campaign, and they didn't quit until they won. Welcome to Region 1A!”
