(WASHINGTON) – Standard Forwarding Teamsters have ratified a national freight master agreement by 92 percent. Over 350 drivers will benefit from wage increases, improved benefits, and additional paid holidays, setting a new industry standard.
“This phenomenal contract was achieved through our unity,” said Scott Lee, a driver at Standard Forwarding. “With challenges like inflation, we are thrilled with wage increases, pension security, and continued Teamsters health care. This agreement gives us future confidence.”
The contract provides a 26 percent wage increase over five years, adds Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a paid holiday, enhances overtime pay, includes two extra paid sick days, and preserves pension and health care benefits.
“This is a win for our members, improving their lives substantially,” said Bill Wedebrand, Teamsters National Freight Division Central Region Representative. “It raises the industry bar and underscores the power of a Teamsters contract.”
“Strong gains will benefit members and bolster organizing efforts at Standard Forwarding,” said John A. Murphy, Teamsters National Freight Division Director. “This agreement is proof of what a united membership can achieve.”
