(BATAVIA, N.Y.) – Employees at O-AT-KA Milk Products in Batavia, N.Y., have successfully ratified a substantial five-year contract via Teamsters Local 118, impacting 338 workers. The agreement promises up to a 46 percent increase in wages, alongside enhancements to health care benefits and retirement funding.

Tim Barbeto, President of Teamsters Local 118, remarked, “This contract is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our negotiating committee and the entire unit. Our members made it clear that they deserved a contract that protected their quality of life and recognized the essential work they do for the company.”

The workforce at O-AT-KA plays a crucial role in producing and packaging dairy-based products and ingredients. Their efforts supply customers nationwide with items such as ready-to-drink beverages, evaporated milk, butter, milk powders, and other dairy products.

Long-time O-AT-KA employee and Local 118 member, Russ Salway, who has been with the company for 30 years, stated, “These are the best raises that we’ve seen since I began working here. This contract will make a real difference for our families, especially with the cost of living continuing to rise. It also shows what we can accomplish as Teamsters when we stay united throughout the bargaining process.”
