Merchandisers Unite with Warehouse Workers and Drivers in Union Efforts

(FARMERS BRANCH, Texas) – Merchandisers at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits in Farmers Branch, Texas, have voted unanimously to join Teamsters Local 745. They join 250 warehouse and delivery workers who unionized earlier in 2023.

“Workers throughout Dallas and nearby areas see the benefits of a Teamsters contract,” said Brent Taylor of Local 745. “The Teamsters are gaining momentum across Texas.”

The company, which distributes over 50% of domestic wine and spirits, is seeing rapid unionization in states like Arkansas and Kentucky since March.

“We’re excited for a pay increase,” mentioned Landon Dunson, a veteran merchandiser of 30 years. “With rising living costs, changes are needed. We’ve heard great things about the Teamsters from others, and we expect positive outcomes.”
